Southern Water Hosepipe Restrictions wef 10 July 2026

Southern Water have taken the decision to introduce a Temporary Use Ban (also known as a hosepipe ban) across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight from 00:01 on Friday 10 July 2026.

They are asking customers to stop using hosepipes for activities such as watering gardens, filling paddling pools or washing cars. Restrictions will be enforceable from 10 July, but Southern Water are asking users to consider limiting their use with immediate effect.

We have been advised that customers on their Priority Services Register and WaterSure scheme, including those with mobility or health needs (such as Blue Badge holders), will be exempt from restrictions.
